- Montjuïc Castle stands about 173 m above the sea. First fort 1640 (Reapers' War), castle from 1694, rebuilt after 1751 by Juan Martín Cermeño. Lluís Companys, President of Catalonia, was executed in the moat on 15 October 1940. Transferred from the Spanish state to Barcelona City Council in 2007/2008.
- Castle hours: 10:00 to 20:00 from 1 March to 31 October, 10:00 to 18:00 from 1 November to 28 February; closed 25 December and 1 January. A new six-room interpretation centre exhibition opened on 26 April 2026. Dungeons and cisterns only on guided visits (weekends). The castle sets some admission days each month (see its website).
- Telefèric de Montjuïc (TMB cable car): Parc de Montjuïc to Castell, about 750 m, rising about 85 m; the Mirador stop is used only on the way down. Hours from 10:00 to 18:00 (Nov to Feb), 19:00 (Mar to May, Oct) or 21:00 (Jun to Sep). Annual inspection closure of about a month, in 2026 from 2 February to 1 March; bus 150 covers the route.
- Funicular de Montjuïc (TMB): underground, Paral·lel (metro L2/L3) to Parc de Montjuïc in about 2 minutes, integrated metro fare. Closed 20 October 2025 to 12 April 2026 for sewer works; reopened 13 April 2026. Winter hours from 26 October 2026 (closes 20:00).
- Port Cable Car (Transbordador Aeri del Port): Barceloneta (Torre de Sant Sebastià) to Miramar; separate operator and ticket; it does not reach the castle.
- Magic Fountain (Font Màgica, 1929, Carles Buïgas): off from 2022 (drought), renovated, back in September 2025; running in 2026 on selected evenings (summer 2026: Wednesday to Sunday from 21:30; October: Thursday to Saturday 21:00 to 22:00). No ticket.
- MNAC and the Fundació Joan Miró close on Mondays (except holidays). The Olympic Museum closes on Mondays.
- Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys: FC Barcelona's home from 2023 to November 2025; Barça plays at Camp Nou in 2026/27 and plans to return to Montjuïc for part of 2027/28.
- Montserrat is about 60 km from Barcelona (R5 train from Plaça d'Espanya, about 1 hour, plus the Aeri cable car or the rack railway) and needs a full day; Montjuïc is inside the city.

## Corrections to claims found elsewhere

- The Montjuïc cable car ticket does not include castle entry.
- The Port Cable Car and the Montjuïc cable car are different rides; the Port Cable Car does not go to the castle.
- The funicular does not reach the castle; it stops at Parc de Montjuïc, where the cable car starts.
- The Montjuïc funicular is open again since 13 April 2026; older pages that say it is closed are out of date.
- The Magic Fountain is running again in 2026 after the drought years and a renovation, but not every night.
- FC Barcelona does not play at the Olympic Stadium in the 2026/27 season.
